Who we are

Welcome — I’m Gabrielle, the artist behind Poptique on Tiktok.

For a long time, I sold art inside platforms that promised visibility and convenience, and learned (the hard way) what happens when control lives somewhere else. Chargebacks, delayed payouts, shifting rules — none of it had anything to do with the quality of the work, and all of it shaped how I chose to move forward.

This site exists because I value ownership, clarity, and sustainability — for myself and for the people who collect my work.

I create original artwork by hand, blending traditional painting techniques with a modern, playful sensibility. My work is made slowly and thoughtfully in my studio, often in focused, single-session bursts that allow intuition and energy to lead the way.

Poptique is a place for work that feels personal, tactile, and expressive — pieces that carry both softness and strength, and that are meant to live with you, not just decorate a wall.

Poptique is a shared studio run by me and my partner, Derreck. While my work lives primarily in paint and surface, Derreck is responsible for all of the studio’s 3D-printed pieces, bringing form and structure to the collection. He designs, prints, assembles, and finishes each sculptural work in-house, overseeing the entire process from start to finish. His technical precision balances my more intuitive approach, allowing the studio to move fluidly between two- and three-dimensional work. Together, we handle every step of creation and preparation, ensuring that each piece reflects the same level of care, intention, and craftsmanship before it leaves our hands.

The paintings and objects often explore contrast — calm and tension, light and shadow, structure and play. I’m drawn to work that feels quietly emotional rather than literal, and to surfaces that show subtle signs of process and touch.

I’m inspired by materials, repetition, and the feeling of being present while something takes shape. Some pieces are more polished, others more raw, but all of them are made with intention.

A Note on Availability

I release work in small batches and accept a limited number of custom pieces. This allows me to stay closely involved in every stage of creation and keep the work feeling special.
